San FranciscoWikipedia cofounder Larry Sanger was banned for canvassing.
Sanger invited 91,000 X followers to influence an internal Wikipedia debate about his diversity WikiProject, which editors ruled off-wiki canvassing.
The ban is indefinite; editors cited “clear consensus” his actions were incompatible with the encyclopedia.
