Korea’s Ruling Party Splits

SeoulFormer Prime Minister Kim Min-seok confirmed his bid for party leader.

His entry makes it a four-way race inside South Korea’s ruling Democratic Party, split between factions loyal to President Lee Jae-myung and to a rival faction led by lawmaker Jung.

The contest will test whether Lee still controls the party machine he leads.
