Sunlight Turns Air Into Chemical

XinxiangSunlight now converts air into a sellable chemical.

A new framework material, HNNU-Se, pulls CO2 straight from open air and turns it into acetaldehyde using only sunlight and water, China-based researchers reported.

The team calls outdoor output “competitive,” but has not shown the reaction scaling past lab quantities.
