SES and Airbus signed a lease near the European Space Agency’s technology centre for Eagle-1’s optical ground station, which will exchange quantum keys immune to future code-breaking, even as the satellite slips to late 2027.
Its budget, set at €130 million for a 2024 launch, remains unconfirmed after three years of delay.
