Senate Probes Sewer Worker Death

GujranwalaSanitary worker Zeeshan Arshad died after wage exploitation, a Senate panel found.

Contractors received Rs29,890 per worker monthly from the waste company but paid workers Rs20,000, half the government-notified minimum wage, Pakistan’s Senate committee said.

The committee ordered contracts, salary and bank records released to examine the deceased’s compensation claim.
