France Builds Satellite Watcher

Saint-Michel-l'ObservatoireA new telescope will image satellites 500km up.

France’s ONERA picked Belgium’s AMOS to build PROVIDENCE, a 2.5-metre scope resolving 10cm detail on orbiting objects for the Air and Space Force.

PROVIDENCE enters service in early 2029 and will also track asteroid Apophis’s approach.
