Physicists Find Glueball Particle

BeijingPhysicists found a particle made purely of force.

It confirms gluons, unlike photons, can bind to each other, completing a 50-year-old prediction.

The BESIII collaboration analyzed nearly ten billion decays to fix X(2370)’s spin parity as glueball-consistent.

Bruce Yabsley, a physicist reviewing the results, called the cumulative evidence “quite persuasive,” not definitive.
