Regulator Clears Bill Hikes

LondonOfwat provisionally cleared £3.4bn in extra water bill rises.

Nearly a third of that sum only maintains service customers already pay for.

Five companies, including debt-laden Thames Water, will raise bills £1 to £43 by 2030 for growth, pollution and “forever chemical” costs.

Public consultation runs before Ofwat’s final decision in December.
