Amhara Fighters Join Tigray

Addis AbabaFano has joined the fighters it fought four years ago.

Neither side can take the capital alone, so their alliance only needs to stretch Ethiopia’s army.

Fano leader Zemene Kassie told Le Temps his Amhara insurgency joined seven groups, including the Tigray People’s Liberation Front.

Tigray’s government warns of “another catastrophic war” after an August 20 drone strike on Mekelle.
