LagosWashington lifted a 12-year shipping restriction on Nigeria.
The restriction had added security costs to every ship from Nigeria calling US ports.
Under the Condition of Entry, ships from flagged ports faced extra boarding and inspections, a cost shipowners passed to exporters.
Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia remain under the same Coast Guard grading system.
