Pakistan Sanctions Its Own Telecom

IslamabadPakistan’s telecom regulator halted its own carrier’s SIMs.

eSIM customers have no physical card to port if service lapses.

The regulator ruled ONIC, Ufone’s app-only eSIM brand, operates as an unlicensed virtual network.

Existing ONIC users must migrate to the parent carrier within three months, an official said.
