ToyohashiIran’s women’s kata team won its first-ever Asian Games medal.
The silver marks a milestone for women’s karate in Iran at this level of competition.
Coached by Fatemeh Baghlanipour, the team beat Thailand and the Philippines en route to the final before finishing runners-up.
Karate at the Games continues through September 30 at the Toyohashi venue.
