Tigray Forces Seize Airports

MekelleTigrayan forces seized 3 airports Wednesday.

Ethiopian Airlines suspended flights to all 3, cutting Ethiopia’s Tigray region off by air.

Mekelle, Axum and Shire link northern and western Tigray, and the seizure tests the 2022 Pretoria Agreement that ended the war.

The military says it repelled the attacks and killed 272 Tigrayan fighters.

Retaking the airports would need air power and artillery in cities, a security source in Addis Ababa said.
