North Kivu’s cases rose 56% in 3 weeks even as Ituri’s fell 25%.

Insecurity blocks case searches, and contact tracing lists 20 contacts per case against a target of 60.

Yet 14 of 63 affected health zones are in a controlled phase, and cases have plateaued for 5 weeks.

49 zones remain active, and the agency warns the plateau is not proof the outbreak is under control.
