BelfastJudge Patricia Smyth suspended Sunday’s 8am Garvaghy Road parade.

The route has been banned for 28 years since sectarian violence at Drumcree in 1998.

Residents challenged Friday’s Parades Commission approval, and Smyth granted interim relief until a judicial review is decided.

“Be big enough to step back from the abyss,” Smyth told the parties in court.

Loyalists appeal the injunction at a second special hearing on Saturday night.
