RAF Forms Space Effects Unit

LondonRAF’s new squadron will disrupt, degrade and deny space threats.

That is an offensive mandate, not just satellite defense, as orbit becomes a battleground.

The unit will run electronic warfare and counter anti-satellite weapons, though officials would not detail its systems, citing classification.

“No one wants a war in space,” said Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth.

The UK plans 3 more RAF Space Squadrons, backed by £880 million for space control through 2030.
