TallahasseeFlorida’s attorney general sued to stop ChatGPT’s development entirely.
It is the first US state seeking a court order against a frontier AI model itself.
The filing asks the court to bar minors from ChatGPT and halt further development until a third party approves safeguards.
“Stop calling it safe. Stop pretending it’s human. Stop selling it to kids,” said Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier.
A Florida circuit court in Highlands County will decide whether to grant the injunction.
