Russian state firms are securing Sahel battery minerals after Mali’s junta expelled French forces and Western miners.
TASS said Rosatom drilled over a hundred boreholes at Bougoula and raised its lithium resource base 50% to 458,000 tons.
TASS did not report what Mali receives from the deal beyond the mine’s construction timeline.
A feasibility study is planned for 2027 and construction for 2028, TASS reported, citing project head Andrey Mineyev.
