La PazBolivia arrested its attorney general Wednesday.
The US revoked Roger Mariaca’s visa Monday, alleging he took bribes to ease drug trafficking.
The State Department revoked visas for 27 officials across 4 countries and gave no reasons for most individual targets.
Mariaca denies the charge and calls the visa decision political pressure over his investigations.
The attorney general’s office did not respond to AFP on the arrests of Mariaca and Santa Cruz prosecutor Alberto Zeballos.
