North Korea claims its hypersonic missile hit 1,000 km away.

Russian state agency TASS relayed the claim from North Korean state media, saying Kim Jong Un watched.

North Korea’s state news agency says units tested the system’s reliability, effectiveness and mobility in the east on 3 October.

Kim said the drill must “repeatedly demonstrate to our enemies the reliability and lethal power” of his strategic arms.

The sources carry no confirmation from Seoul or Tokyo of the launch or its range.
