Italy sketches an orbital platform with Moon and Mars gravity.

The Italian Space Agency says Moon and Mars missions need data on how biology and materials behave in partial gravity.

Its preliminary concept would host modular experiments of a few CubeSat units each, at gravity from microgravity to lunar and Martian levels.

The German Aerospace Center flew a spinning artificial-gravity satellite in 2018, but a software fault stopped its greenhouses.

The agency expects to open its consultation with scientists and industry later this month.
