A 4.5-metre, 220-kilogram Triassic dinosaur walked Zimbabwe on two legs.

Zimbabwe’s dinosaurs are not an extension of South Africa’s but include species unique to the region.

The incomplete skeleton of Musango matusadonaensis came from the Nyamasango River bank, and bone growth marks show a subadult.

The skull was not preserved, so its diet is unknown.

The researchers suspect environmental conditions explain the difference and are working to test that.
