ParisHackers heated supermarket fridges to 50°C across France, starting fires.
Mousquetaires, owner of Intermarché, says 300 of its stores were hit, with losses in the millions of euros.
Attackers reached internet-exposed Danfoss and Copeland controllers overnight and forced defrost cycles, France’s CERT-FR said.
Danfoss says most affected controllers ran outdated firmware it had urged stores to update.
The Paris prosecutor’s cybercrime section is investigating, and no one has named the attacker.
