Chip exports jumped 108% in September.

China’s total exports rose 36.3% to $447.18bn, the biggest monthly rise since 2021, customs figures show.

Tech-related trade led the growth, and the first-nine-months trade surplus has reached $938.1bn.

“Growth remains quite unbalanced, with domestic data quite soft in comparison,” said Lynn Song, chief economist for Greater China at the bank ING.

The IMF expects 4.5% growth in 2026, China’s slowest since 1990 outside the pandemic years.
