Human mathematicians are now unpacking OpenAI’s proof.

New York University’s Maksym Radziwiłł says most consequences of the full hypothesis already follow.

The proof introduced no new concepts, instead linking well-known techniques, including some pioneered by Radziwiłł and Alexander Dunn.

Jared Duker Lichtman of Stanford University called it “the most significant AI-for-math achievement so far, by quite a margin.”

The full Riemann hypothesis, open since 1859, remains unproven.

Quanta Magazine leans favorable
emphasizes the proof's surprise: no new concepts, just hidden connections between old ones, per Radziwiłł and Dunn
