Jamaat-i-Islami threatens an Islamabad march over a Rs114-a-litre petrol levy.

Pakistan also levies Rs100 a litre on diesel, which the party says drives up grocery prices.

A September relief scheme cuts Rs100 a litre on 20 litres monthly for motorcycles and 30 for cars up to 800cc.

Ministers contacted the party, and a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is due within two days, it says.

The march starts in mid-November unless Sharif abolishes the levy, after the party paused a September march at Multan.
