MelbourneFremantle will use AI to scan 9,300 Neighbours episodes for phone dramas.
Margot Robbie’s footage is the first focus, and RoseBerry Media’s AI maps storylines while Fremantle says it generates no new scenes or voices.
Former cast member Matt Werkmeister, who has not been approached, says “there needs to be consent for using our image and voice.”
Fremantle is in talks with 2 unions and says residuals will be paid, though not to crew.
