6,000 people have vanished, the territory’s missing-persons committee says.

Without a body or a detention record, families cannot bury, mourn or visit anyone.

Committee head Omar Nofal says 21,500 were reported missing and most are confirmed dead, 8,000 of them under rubble.

“A grave, I don’t want more than that,” said Tahani Fayez, whose son Manar vanished in November 2024.

The family has examined more than 70 bodies, and the Red Cross has not answered their request.
