TehranIran will hit beyond West Asia, Iranian state news agency Mehr reported.
Russian state news agency TASS carried the same post by Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Ayatollah Khamenei.
Mehr said Khamenei told commanders on Saturday to prepare a response with no geographic limits.
Neither report names a weapon, a range or a target.
Mehr says Iran stays open to diplomacy if the US lifts its blockades and sanctions.
