An FBI agent testified the inquiry began last July under FBI Director Kash Patel’s direction.
Nikki Floris and Bradley Benavides were accused of lying to Congress in 2023 about a Hunter Biden laptop investigation.
“I will not bury my head in the sand and pretend I cannot read a calendar,” Faruqui said.
The Justice Department may still seek a grand jury indictment.
