Pakistan’s ginners received 4.74 million bales by 31 October.

Ginners say Pakistan missed 1 million bales in any peak fortnight for the second straight year.

Sugarcane is displacing cotton in its zones, and heat from July to early November cut fibre quality, ginners’ chairman Ihsanul Haq said.

Digital invoicing from the Federal Board of Revenue brought more trade into official counts, so the crop could still exceed 6 million bales.

648,034 bales remain unsold, and Haq says the government has yet to curb sugarcane in cotton zones.
