Africa Presses COP31 Finance

AntalyaAfrica’s 54 countries want COP30’s adaptation-finance tripling made operational.

Developed countries cite geopolitical tension and domestic strain for holding finance back, chair Nana Antwi-Boasiako said.

Article 9.1 of the Paris Agreement obliges developed countries to pay, while 9.2 only invites other countries able to.

Delegates adopt the COP31 agenda on 9 November, and the Green Climate Fund replenishment follows next year.
