Storage lost 5% of its summer gas, Russian state news agency TASS calculated.

Gas Infrastructure Europe data show the lowest 6 November storage level since tracking began in 2011.

Net withdrawals topped 2 billion cubic metres since 28 October, more than triple the five-year average, from 51.2 billion injected.

The European Commission was prepared to lower the 90% filling target to 80%, anticipating a very mild winter.

At 72.98% on 6 November, storage sits below even that 80% mark.
