Japan Visa Fees Quintuple

TokyoSingle-entry Japan visas rise from ¥3,000 to ¥15,000 on July 1.

The last increase was 1978; the move comes as the yen hovers near 40-year lows.

Permanent residency fees also jump — from ¥10,000 to ¥300,000 — under a May bill.
