New DelhiIndia’s climate death toll is undercounted when ozone and heat are tallied separately, researchers said.

Ground-level ozone forms in hot air and attacks lungs simultaneously, making pre-monsoon mortality worse than heat alone.

Counting both hazards would raise attributed warming death totals, the study found.
