FTC Settles Insulin Case

Washington$8.5 billion in insulin costs, refunded over 10 years.

The FTC settled claims that CVS Caremark rigged rebates to favor higher-priced insulin, a markup structure it said also involved Cigna’s Express Scripts and UnitedHealth’s Optum Rx.

CVS Caremark must now change its rebate dealings with employers, health plans and pharmacies, the agency said.
