Greece Shuts Minority Schools

Xanthi8 Turkish-minority schools in Western Thrace just closed.

Greece cited low enrollment; the 1923 Lausanne treaty guarantees the minority’s mother-tongue schooling, now at 76 schools.

Türkiye’s foreign ministry also flagged new Xanthi enrollment barriers, calling both moves systematic erosion.
