Japan Tests New Stealth Missile

GifuAn F-2 flew with an unidentified stealth cruise missile Wednesday.

The War Zone says its size and shape suggest Japan’s air-launched Type 25 — a domestically built strike weapon needing no American export licence, unlike its recent Tomahawk buy.

Japan’s Ministry of Defense has not named the weapon; its constitutional counterstrike doctrine dates only to 2022.
