Spain Imposes Italy Border Checks

MadridTwo Schengen allies now police each other’s border.

Spain will check travellers from Italy from midnight Saturday, retaliating after Rome kept its own checks past Spain’s Sunday deadline.

At least 1,342 children remain in Ceuta as neither government sets a date to lift the controls.
