A California judge dismissed their suit against NSO Group Wednesday after plaintiffs failed to show California jurisdiction.
The Knight First Amendment Institute counted the hits between June 2020 and November 2021 and filed the first US suit against NSO.
The journalists argued the attacks ran through California infrastructure, and a first judge tossed the case in March 2024.
The Knight Institute plans to appeal, and NSO has not responded to requests for comment.
