MojaveNorthrop’s Talon Blue completed its first fully autonomous flight.
It joins Anduril and General Atomics in competing for the US Air Force’s next hundreds of jets.
Northrop Grumman said the company-funded jet taxied, took off, manoeuvred and landed itself, with a lower part count to cut cost.
Increment 2, the Air Force’s next purchase of hundreds of aircraft, still has undefined requirements.
