Iran’s Guards say a mine hit a supertanker in Hormuz.

Brent crude stood at $125.40 on 6 October, up 10.1% in 7 days.

The Guards say the tanker took an unauthorised route and switched off its positioning systems before the blast.

No shipowner, navy or independent source has confirmed the explosion, the ship or any casualties.

Hormuz traffic was already 39% below its 90-day normal on 4 October, at 2.7 ships a day.
