IslamabadPresident Zardari declared an emergency under Article 232.
Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, run by Imran Khan’s party, lost its elected government Sunday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s advice cited failure to fight militancy, but the president’s office did not say who will run the province.
“This will only lead to further bloodshed, instability and collateral damage,” said Zulfikar Bukhari, Imran Khan’s aide and party spokesman.
Khan’s party has threatened to march on Islamabad in the coming days.
