WashingtonPentagon now counts 21 US war dead, Russian state broadcaster RT reported.
The figure rose from 18 after a newspaper reported the database understated deaths, RT said.
Friday’s update added a National Guard major who died in Kuwait on 6 March and a Navy suicide in September.
“There is no excuse for a mistake of this magnitude,” Democratic Representatives Adam Smith and Chrissy Houlahan said.
