WarsawPolice arrested a Polish national hours after an emailed tip.
He is accused of plotting to kill Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The State Protection Service, which guards ministers, forwarded an email about the plan to police, the Interior Ministry said.
Officials have not released his name, and the nature of the threat remains unclear.
Police checks continue at schools across Poland next week, Tusk said, after 3 knife attacks in 4 days.
