A Korean ship hauled 737 containers over Russia’s Arctic route, Russian state news agency TASS reported.

No shipping company from South Korea had used the Northern Sea Route since 2016.

The Busan-Rotterdam route is 13,000 km, 35% shorter than via Suez, TASS said, citing the ministry through Yonhap.

The ship carried used cars and spare parts and returned six days behind its original plan.

A ceremony marking its return is set for 13 October.
