Dutch benchmark gas futures hit about $1,003 per 1,000 cubic metres, Russian state news agency TASS reported.

That is the highest since 2022, according to Intercontinental Exchange data TASS cited.

November futures equal 86.675 euros per megawatt-hour, and spot prices on main European hubs also top $1,000, TASS said.

TASS says prices first reached $1,000 this September.

It ties the surge to record-low storage before winter and the Middle East conflict.
