Fire crossed the fence of one of Canada’s busiest army training bases.

Canada’s defence minister, David McGuinty, confirmed fatalities and injuries but gave no toll.

High winds spread the blaze from a training area across the perimeter fence, the local municipality said.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating, and McGuinty has not said what caused it.
