Russia’s Kosmos 2612 came within about 500 metres of ICEYE-X36, LeoLabs says.

Analyst Marco Langbroek says the US-registered commercial radar satellite might now be Ukrainian-owned or leased.

Kosmos 2612 closed from hundreds of kilometres away, manoeuvred around the satellite, lingered, then moved away, LeoLabs said.

Public tracking data suggest a pass within 26 metres, but LeoLabs says it can neither confirm nor contradict that.

Kosmos 2612 sits in a larger orbit and will drift away unless it manoeuvres again.
