PeshawarSohail Afridi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister, has not been seen since 11 October.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi confirmed Sunday that Afridi and Speaker Babar Saleem Swati are under house arrest.
Pakistan’s federal government imposed emergency rule on 11 October, putting Kundi in charge of the province.
Afridi’s brother and Swati’s cousin have asked the Peshawar High Court to order their recovery.
